Mastering starts inside the prompt

There is no separate mastering toggle. Suno V6 responds to production language in the brief — name the mix you want and the model aims at it.

Mix character cues

Phrases like "polished modern mix", "warm analog mastering", "crisp drums", or "wide harmonies" steer the balance and texture of the render.

Dynamics cues

Ask for a "restrained first verse", a "rising pre-chorus", or a "dynamic final chorus" so the loud moments land harder.

Vocal presence cues

"Intimate close-mic vocal" versus "huge stacked harmonies" changes how the voice sits in the master. Pick one clearly.

Reference by era

"Late-1970s live-band warmth" or "modern streaming-loud pop" gives the model a mastering target without naming plugins.

A finishing workflow that works

  1. 1. Generate a small batch

Produce a few takes of the same prompt on Suno V6 and compare them on decent speakers or headphones. Pick the take with the best balance, not just the best hook.

  2. 2. Fix weak spots with Replace Section

If one passage drags or distorts, use the track's Replace Section action to regenerate just that range instead of starting over.

  3. 3. Export WAV, not just MP3

Request the WAV conversion from the track actions for a full-quality master. Keep MP3 for quick sharing and previews.

  4. 4. Separate stems for real mastering

For serious finishing, split the track into vocals, drums, bass, guitar, and other stems, then EQ, compress, and limit them in a DAW.

What mastering can and can't fix

Fixable in the app

Weak sections, off-balance prompts, and arrangement issues — solve these with new takes, Replace Section, or Extend before you export.

Fixable with stems

Boomy bass, harsh vocals, or a buried kick — stem separation lets you treat each part in a DAW instead of EQing the whole mix blind.

Not fixable afterward

A melody you don't like or the wrong lyric won't improve with mastering. Regenerate until the song itself is right, then polish.

FAQ

Does Suno V6 App have a mastering toggle?

No separate switch. Mastered-sounding results come from production cues in your prompt, choosing the best take, and exporting WAV or stems for final polish.

Should I master the MP3 or the WAV?

Always work from the WAV conversion — it preserves the full quality of the render. Use MP3 only for sharing and previews.

How do I get stems for external mastering?

Open a finished track's actions and run vocal separation or multi-stem separation, then download the parts. Details are in the stems & export guide.

Is this the official Suno product?

No. Suno V6 App is an independent service and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Suno.
